TV Misery is the newest creative venture of producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Watson. Raised amidst the musical ambiance of his family's Northern Rivers music shop in the 90s, Mike's immersion in music was inevitable. Best recognized as the lead guitarist for the acclaimed indie rock band Wharves, his achievements are a testament to his musical prowess.
 

Notable milestones include performances at prestigious festivals such as Splendour in the Grass and Isle of Wight, as well as extensive tours across Europe and the UK with DZ Deathrays. His music has received significant airplay on influential radio stations including Triple J, BBC Radio 1, and Radio X, underscoring his broad appeal both locally and internationally.
 

In the realm of production, Mike has made impactful contributions, collaborating closely with artists such as Franki Kaneur, whose track 'Boring' has amassed over 950k streams. He has also teamed up with Grant Gerathy from the John Butler Trio on Joe Conroy's upcoming EP, and provided additional production on The Colliflowers' recent single 'Devil’s Child'.
 

TV Misery serves as Mike's platform to explore and experiment with Garage Rock and Art Rock, using his own storytelling and production expertise to craft evocative musical narratives. His live performances range from intimate solo sets with a drum machine to full-scale productions featuring a dynamic five-piece band.
 

Beyond music releases and live gigs, Mike's creative vision extends into multimedia experimentation, integrating reactive live visual shows using webcams and projectors. He has also curated DIY cassettes featuring limited-release alternative versions of his singles, further engaging his audience in innovative ways.
